- Individual must be a paid member of the NIGP Copper Chapter of Southern Arizona in good standing for at least one year prior and in the current year to receive a scholarship award. Each time a member attends a Chapter Meeting, Committee Meeting or sponsored event, they will be afforded the points allocated for that particular event. A list of all event-types and their associated point allocation is attached as Attachment A.
- Individuals may apply for points for participation during the previous two calendar years (January – December).
- A minimum of twenty points is required to be eligible.
- Scholarships must be used in the calendar year they are awarded and for the specific event for which they are awarded. Any scholarship not used in the calendar year awarded will be voided at year’s end. Any scholarship funds not used in the calendar year awarded will be returned to the Copper Chapter Treasurer.
- Scholarships are not transferable to another person.
- Scholarships must be used for an event as stated on your application. Event shall be an approved event, as determined by the Copper Chapter Board and membership. This may include, but shall not be limited to, NIGP classes, NIGP reviews, NIGP test application fees, NIGP Regional Conference or the NIGP National Forum and Exposition. An official registration form must accompany a check request submitted to the Scholarship/Fundraising Chair of the Copper Chapter. If the official registration form is not yet available, please submit whatever promotional material you may have on the event. Please allow two weeks to process the check request. Reimbursement to a scholarship recipient can also be made upon proof of payment and attendance at an official NIGP event. Proof of attendance or a copy of the certificate received by attending the class, test or conference must also be forwarded to the Scholarship / Fund Raising Committee as proof of attendance. Failure to provide proof of attendance will require reimbursement by the Member to the Chapter. Failure to reimburse will result in Member being ineligible for future scholarships.
- Any difference in the amount of the scholarship versus the cost of the class, test or conference shall be the responsibility of the scholarship recipient if the cost is greater. If the cost of the class, test or conference is less than the scholarship amount, that amount will be returned to the Copper Chapter Treasurer and the balance may be used for another approved function upon submittal of another form.
- All decisions of the Copper Chapter Board are final.
